Brady Moroney (Brady) -  Lead Saxophone
Brady Moroney, 38, is a homeless transient with an alleged criminal record of musical instrument thefts (all acquitted).  After serving time for various acts of noise ordinance violations, he has pursued shelter in various local nursing homes and retirement centers – under the guise of providing entertainment.  His troupe of followers share equally suspicious backgrounds and frequently convene to compare notes on this country’s judicial system.  When not making noise Brady enjoys his mistress, Sandy, and two illegitimate children - Donovan and Mackenzie, who all live not far from the Lino Lakes Correctional Facility.

Jill Whitney-Birk (BBB QT) - Vocals (Alternate)
Jill is a
girl who loves all things old...old movies, old books, old music...so she has found her home with the BBB gang singing the greatest tunes ever written. When not singing, she loves to direct plays, go antiquing, scrapbook, and hang out with her family.  She lives in the "pink house" in Hugo with her husband, Dave and daughters Hannah (14) and Ruby (9).

Kay Larson (Solo K) - Trombone
Kay Larson is a low brass player in Brady’s Big Band. She has been playing in the band since 2005 and is married to the Big Band drummer, Tom. Kay and Tom reside in White Bear Lake, and she is employed at Trane, also in White Bear Lake.    Kay volunteers to work the Track and Field, and Cross Country events for the White Bear Lake Schools. She enjoys all sporting events, especially hockey. She is an avid Minnesota Gopher hockey fan.  

Monique DeLong ("Q" Time) – Saxophone, Flute
Monique M. DeLong, 32, began playing her alto saxophone at the age of eleven.  A favorite memory during her marching band years at Forest Lake High School was marching in the 1992 Tournament of Roses Parade in Pasadena, CA.  Monique has a classical background and has nearly two decades of concert band experience.  She joined Brady's Big Band in October 2006.  Monique also figure skates and has directed the annual Red Wing Figure Skating Club ice show for the past five years.  Besides skating and music, Monique enjoys hiking, water and snow skiing, jogging, biking, dance classes and traveling.  Last June, Monique finished her 9th 26.2 mile marathon.  Her flight attendant career takes her to many cities in the U.S. and abroad.  Monique quietly resides in historic and beautiful Red Wing, MN.

Mark Hendrickson (Mambo Mark) - Trumpet
Mark Hendrickson started playing the trumpet in the Appleton MN 5th grade band. He became interested in the trumpet because his father, Virgil, played the bugle in the Army during WWII. Mark has participated in community bands, church groups and the University of MN Pep Band. Mark lives in Gem Lake with his wife, Maia. Until he joins the senior golf tour, Mark will continue to work as a self-employed carpenter.

Mat Kramer (One T) - Trombone
Mat Kramer is the lead trombone in Brady’s Big Band.  Mat has played trombone for over 30 years, including playing at the University of Minnesota, and in local Jazz Bands, Community Bands, and Variety Bands.  Mat grew up in Dellwood and went to the University of Minnesota.  Mat has worked for over 20 years as a Software Engineer for Transoma Medical.  He now lives in Circle Pines with his wife Anne and children Ruby and Harris.

Leo Halm (Chops) - Trumpet (Alternate)
Leo started out in The Crusader's Drum and Bugle Corps on Soprano bugle. He picked up the trumpet in High School and went on to get a Bachelor's of Music Education from Illinois State University, where he also was an Assistant Director of the World's Largest Marching Band (450 performers on the field). After graduating with both a BME and a BS in Chemistry, he and his family moved to the Twin Cities where he has worked as a Chemist for the last 20+ years. Among the many great organizations he has had the pleasure of performing with since moving to Minnesota are: The Lakewood Community College Band, The Minnesota State Band, The Star of the North Concert Band, numerous community theater pit orchestras, and now Brady's Big Band.  His other great love is motorcycle roadracing. He is a member of the Central Roadracing Association here in Minnesota and volunteers as a Corner worker for races, both amateur and professional, all over.

Tom Repinski (Tomcat) - Saxophone
Tom is one of the newer additions to the band.  He visited as an alternate on alto sax, and hasn’t missed a practice or gig, since.  Tom is reliable and fun and let’s loose with the BBB after a long hard day at his day job.  Like the other members of the BBB, Tom looks to the band for the stress relief, and the socializing with fun loving musicians who share the drive to be the best they can be while enjoying the ability to offer the gift of music to the audience.

Joe Astrologo (Lil' Joe) - Sound/Stage
Joseph "Lil Joe" Astrologo moved from Michigan to Red Wing, Minnesota in 2007.  When moving from Mo Town to the Land of 10,000 Lakes... he never dreamed of being involved with Brady's Big Band.  Joe quickly made friends with the band, and he now serves as Assistant Technical Support (a.k.a. Feedback Dude's Helper).  Unbeknown to most, Joe started learning electric guitar within the last five years and will soon be contributing as the BBB guitar player.  His favorite musicians include B.B. King, Eric Clapton, Stevie Ray Vaughn and Jimmy Page, and the BBB. Besides attending gigs and hanging out with the band, Joseph's hobbies include aviation.

Dean LaValle (Feedback Dude) - Sound/Stage/Beverages/Feedback
Dean LaValle REALLY enjoys music and the passionate, loving  people that are the BBB, their great music, and helping with equipment logistics, and refreshments.  Dean continues to learn about sound systems while making music with his incredible wife, Kathi.

Bjorn Larson (The Kid) - Trumpet
Bjorn, trumpet, is 23 years old. He grew up in White Bear Lake and has been playing the trumpet since he was in sixth grade. He played first trumpet in the Bethel University Wind Symphony as well as the Bethel University Jazz Orchestra. He has also performed locally with a jazz quartet. He loves listening to jazz and learning the classic styles of the greats. Bjorn is married to his wonderful wife Emily who is a nurse at Children's Hospital. Along with playing trumpet Bjorn enjoys fishing, going up to the cabin, and playing golf whenever there is time. He works as a mutual fund accountant at The Hartford. He and Emily reside in St. Paul. Bjorn not only plays in the Big Band, but also the 7 Cats, and sometimes the BBB Jazz Combo.

Andy Wilcox (Senator) - Trumpet
Andy Wilcox is one of the trumpet players in Brady’s Big Band.  He was coerced out of musical retirement by Brady and has been with the band since they started in 2004.  Andy is a marketing director at Greenheck and prior to that he was with Trane in White Bear Lake.  Andy and his wife Liz reside in White Bear Lake where Andy coaches U11 soccer and Liz is treasurer for Lincoln school’s PTA.

Tom Larson (TomTom) - Drums
Tom Larson began playing drums at 10 years old. He played percussion through High School and has since played with the Roseville Community band and the Centennial Community band. One highlight of his drumming career besides BBB was playing with the Cashmen. They were a blues band that drew national attention after winning the 1995 battle of the bands. Tom joined Brady’s Big band in 2005. Jazz has become his favorite playing style.   Tom enjoys playing softball, golf and waterskiing. Tom’s wife Kay, also plays in Brady’s Big Band.

Dave McGill (Maynard) - Trumpet
David McGill is one the finest trumpet players in the Twin Cities. His mom says so. 35 years of practice and dedication have led directly to the pinnacle of his career-- lead trumpet in Brady's Big Band. He also plays in the Minnesota Symphonic Winds big band. His proudest achievement is his son Conor, a Euphonium player and football player (not at the same time) at Cretin-Derham Hall High School in Saint Paul. The Euphonium is a large trumpet. The state of Minnesota actually saw fit to grant Mr. McGill a license to teach grade school children in Minnesota. Currently, he is a gifted and talented teacher (the kids, not the teacher) at Capitol Hill School in Saint Paul. He used to play tennis but now he is way too old, so he plays golf.

Will McBride (Rufus) - Bass
Will McBride plays the upright bass and bass guitar for Brady’s Big Band.  Will is originally from Virginia, Minnesota where his past musical life included playing string bass and violin in the Mesabi Community Orchestra, pit orchestras, and dinner music ensembles.  Other music endeavors involve small jazz combos, show bands, and various rock and roll bands.  Will and his wife are raising their two children in White Bear Lake, Minnesota.

Cathie Krueger (Cat in the Hat) - Piano/Clarinet
Adjectives such as "diverse, creative and prepared" accurately capture Cathie Krueger's musical experience, talents and approach. Her background includes 30 years of multi-generational piano instruction (Cathie draws upon her 9 years as a teacher, education degrees from Bethel and St. Thomas, and an undergraduate music minor to tailor lessons for individual students). She has been accompanying musical groups of many styles and sizes since high school - the spectrum includes show choirs, praise bands, college chorales, and gospel groups such as Stand Up. As a church organist for about 25 years (serving three church denominations full-time, and many others as a fill-in), and as a training consultant and performer for the well-known Rogers organ company, she has demonstrated adaptability and innovation. Cathie prides herself on diligently preparing for upcoming events, and prides herself on infusing "feeling" into pieces, bringing life to the notes. Her keyboard skills are supplemented by acclaimed experience as a clarinetist, and she continues growing musically through studying the guitar and accordion, and dabbling in composition. Finally, Cathie has a fine alto voice to round out her abilities.

Randy Amborn (Brother Randy) - Keyboard
Randy Amborn has been playing keyboard in bands professionally and for enjoyment since 1976. An in-demand pianist across many styles, most of his gigs today are in jazz, big band, 50’s/60’s rock or worship styles. He enjoys contributing to the White Bear community and beyond by combining music and philanthropy.   Among Randy’s favorite artists are Antonio Carlos Jobim, Al Green, Ray Charles, and Dr. John.

Dana Sears (Sears & Rowboat) - Trombone
Dana was born and raised in Blacksburg, Va. the home of Virginia Tech. and started playing trombone in the seventh grade because there were lots of girls in band. He continued playing thru high school, college and then with community concert and jazz bands in Wisconsin and Minnesota. Playing with BBB is great fun and a real treat. When not playing with BBB Dana works as an engineer for Power Systems Solutions designing and commissioning paralleling switchgear and controls for backup power systems. Other favorite activities include bicycling, sailing, canoeing and camping in the BWCA, SCUBA diving, trying to hunt, working in the garden and helping to take care of two grand children.

Janet McClellan (Swiggs) - Saxophones
Janet McClellan began her “career” with Brady’s Big Band as a sub but has been a full-time member since 2006.  She currently plays alto sax, but enjoys playing all the saxophones in the sax family.  Janet is a stay-at-home mom who teaches piano.  She is an original member of the Centennial Community Band and likes to use her musical gifts for church.  Besides playing the piano and saxophone, Janet likes to dabble in original compositions and musical arrangements; reading, working on her family tree, and spending time with her family.  Janet lives in Blaine with her husband Brett and their 3 daughters, Stephanie, Savannah,, and Emily.

Jim Baxter (Boss JB) - Awesome Conductor
Jim plays valve trombone in the BBB Jazz Orchestra and randomly offends audience members. He is a graduate of the University of Minnesota and is currently employed by the taxpayers of Princeton, Minnesota to guide their high school aged youth through positive instrumental musical experiences. In his spare time Jim directs the Centennial Community Band, teaches private low brass lessons, directs the St. Michael-Albertville High School Marching Knights, coaches the MN All-State Tuba/Euphoniums, Co-Directs the U of M Summer Alumni Band, and spends time working toward complete baldness. He lives in Anoka with his beautiful wife Krystal and their Rottweiler, Bruce.

Kathi LaValle (Saxy Kat) - Manager, Saxophone
Kathi has been playing tenor saxophone for 44 years, and in the last 10 years added soprano, alto, and her new favorite, the bari sax.  Besides acting as band manager for the BBB, she enjoys playing with the Star of the North Concert Band, Centennial Community Band, 7 Cats Swing Band, and occasionally gets a call for backup in other Big Bands.  She spends her spare time teaching piano and saxophone to her grandkids, and enjoying international travel with her husband Dean, “Feedback Dude”, who runs the sound system and hosts band practice for the BBB.
