Groove Cat (Glen Peterson) - Saxaphone

Glen started on the tenor sax at 11 years old and played in the Centennial school systems bands till his senior year. He then started playing with the Townsmen old time band in the early 70's, performing mostly on the east side of St. Paul at the North End Improvement, the Gladstone House, Ford Hall, Moose Hall, and the Polish-American Hall. In 1991 after playing in the Inver Hills Community Band, Glen joined the Roseville Big Band to play lead tenor and is still enjoying playing with conductor Glen Newton. Major influences have been The Jazz Crusaders, Woody Herman’s Bands, Stan Getz, and Phil Woods and Paul Desmoid. Glen's day job is as a mechanical engineer. Other interests are tinkering with his MGB sports car and control line model planes.
